DMG-PEG 2000 (1,2-dimyristoyl-rac-glycero-3-methoxypolyethylene glycol-2000) is a PEGylated lipid used in the formation of lipid nanoparticles (LNP) for the development of mRNA vaccines such as COVID-19 vaccine and for the delivery of other nucleic acids such as RNAis. DMG is a synthetic lipid that mimics phospholipid bilayer formation and fluidity. PEGylation of DMG enhances bioavailability and prevents opsonization of the LNP.
