ALC-0315 is an ionizable lipid designed for the delivery of mRNA in both in vitro and in vivo applications. This lipid is neutral at physiological pH, enabling compatibility with biological systems, but becomes protonated under acidic conditions. Upon protonation, ALC-0315 facilitates electrostatic interactions with nucleic acids and enhances endosomal escape by promoting fusion with endosomal membranes.
