Description

Dextran is a water-soluble carbohydrate with many pharmaceutical and biological uses. For drug delivery, dextran can be used as a coating on nanoparticles to prevent oxidization and improve biocompatibility. It also preferentially binds to early endosomes, allowing for imaging after conjugation to fluorescent dyes.
