Description
Cholesterol (plant-based) is a naturally occurring sterol lipid that has received growing emphasis in the bioprocessing space for its ability to improve DNA transfection efficiency by reducing the adherence of serum proteins to lipopolyplexes and increase fusion with cellular membranes. The benefits of cholesterol in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have shown to increase cellular uptake both in cell cultures and in vivo. Cholesterol has also been shown to protect DNA from degradation by DNase in vivo. Kyfora Bio’s high purity, transfection grade cholesterol can be used in conjunction with our other cationic lipid products to provide reliable performance for bioprocessing applications. This cholesterol is made from plant-based material and is free from animal origin.
