Description
Desmosterol (24-dehydro cholesterol) is a sterol lipid with a backbone similar to cholesterol. It is the precursor to cholesterol in the Bloch biosynthesis pathway. It is known to be a regulator of lipid metabolism. Desmosterol can be used in the study of cellular membranes and lipid metabolism.
