DLin-MC3-DMA is an ionizable lipids used in the formulation of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating siRNA, mRNA, plasmid DNA, and other nucleic acids for delivery in vitro or in vivo. Ionizable lipids, like DLin-MC3-DMA, are neutral at physiological pH but protonated at low pH making them positively charged. In LNPs, these lipids play an important role in nucleic acid encapsulation, endosomal uptake, and release of cargo into the cytosol.DLin-MC3-DMA, when used in combination with other lipids, has been shown to be an especially potent vehicle for siRNA delivery.
